A perfect Christmas weekend DOES really exist

I have to admit that I really love Christmas: its atmosphere, climate that can catch you in any moment since early December. I always have. For me, it’s time to rest, but not in a ordinary, normal way. To rest and reflect upon the most important things in our lives. Time to take stock of the year ending and plan a new one with hope. Time to enjoy every little moment of the day: a single ray of sunshine before sunset, a spicy tea or coffee, even Christmas shopping. And, last but not least, it’s time to let God – or any other good or faith – be born in our hearts.

That’s why I’m so happy about last weekend. It was full of magic that had sneaked into my daily routine. And now I want to share here two things: first, a perfect movie for this pre-Christmas time, and second, photos of a hand-made Christmas wreath.

“The Princess Switch” and “The Princess Switch: Switched Again”

I like to watch some sweet, romantic movie from time to time, even better when it’s about Christmas. For this reason I fell in love with the movie “The Princess Switch” already last year. This movie i san American Christmas romantic comedy which tells the story of tho women who look identical, but are completely different: Lady Margaret Delacourt is Duchess of Montenaro and Stacy DeNovo is a talented young baker. Margaret is engaged to Crown Prince Edward of Belgravia and Stacy… recently broke up with her boyfriend and has a really good friend Kevin (who has a daughter, Olivia). 

Stacy participates with Kevin in a prestigious baking competition in Belgravia. There she accidentally comes across Lady Margaret. When the Duchess proposes an exchange for a few days to experience a normal life, Stacy agrees after a short hesistation. What could go wrong?

Well, a lot. Indeed. Each of the characters thrives, blossoms and shows their best qualities beside “not-her” man. No one is surprised by the complications if love comes into play. But could a Christmas romantic movie ever have a bad and sad ending?

Second part of the movie, “The Princess Switch: Switched Again”, is much more twisted. A third doppelganger appears and… Not a single spoiler more! But it’s worth to say that Vanessa Hudgens, the main actress, is bending over backwards to play great. In Polish I would say “dwoi się i troi”, you know, it has to do with the doppelgangers… Nevermind.

I spent a few hours with my sister watching these movies last weekend. Our time together is very important to me. Just like time spent with my beloved: on Sunday we made a Christmas wreath. I had always wanted to do one by myself. To summarize, I really spent a perfect Christmas weekend. Yes, it exists!
